Custom Pet Portraits
Everything You Need to Know Before Ordering
Commissioning a custom pet portrait is a collaborative and personal experience from start to finish. I work closely with you during the process — from selecting the perfect photo reference all the way through final delivery — to make sure your pet’s personality shines through in the final painting.

Here’s how it all works:
The Ordering Process
Every portrait begins with selecting the right photo. You're welcome to send multiple photos and I’m happy to help choose the one that will translate best into watercolor.
Good lighting, clear facial details, and visible eyes always make the best portraits.
Once your order is placed and the reference photo is finalized, your portrait is scheduled into my painting queue.

Pricing
Portrait pricing depends on the size of the painting selected.
Optional add-ons include:
• Additional Pets: $75 per additional pet
• Rush Delivery: Available when my schedule allows (please inquire)
Each portrait is painted individually and takes time to complete with the attention it deserves.

Timeline
Custom portraits typically take 8–16 weeks depending on current demand.
Because these are hand-painted and scheduled carefully, turnaround times can vary slightly. If you have a specific date in mind (gift, memorial, etc.), please let me know before ordering.
Once my queue reaches 16 weeks, additional new orders move to a waitlist.
To reserve a spot on the waitlist, a $50 deposit is required. This deposit is applied toward your portrait once your turn opens.

Shipping & Delivery
Shipping is always included at no additional cost.
That said, local pickup is always recommended when possible to reduce the risk of damage during transit.
Studio pickup is available by appointment at:
170 West Rd, Suite 6D
Portsmouth, NH

Packaging
Your artwork will be carefully protected for transport.
Smaller portraits are shipped in a rigid photo mailer with protective chipboard and cellophane wrapping.
Larger pieces may be gently rolled and shipped in a triangular art shipping tube to prevent bending during transit.

Communication
When your portrait is complete, I’ll send a photo before shipping so you can see the finished piece.
Because watercolor is not easily altered once completed, please make sure to share any special requests before painting begins (pose preferences, markings, etc.).

A Final Note
Your pet is special — and capturing that personality is my favorite part of this process.
Thank you for trusting me with something so meaningful. I truly care about making sure your portrait turns out exactly as you hoped.
