Inside the Studio
Come on in...

Welcome to my cozy little corner of Portsmouth.
What started as a pandemic hobby has grown into something I never expected: sold-out classes, workshops, retreats, creative friendships, paint-covered tables, and a thriving watercolor community that somehow continues to grow.
My studio isn't simply a place to learn watercolor.
It's an experience.
It's an escape.
And perhaps most importantlyβit's a place where people are welcomed exactly as they are.
When I built this studio, my goal wasn't simply to create a place to paint.
I wanted to create a space where people could walk in carrying the stress of everyday life and leave feeling more relaxed, more peaceful, and more confident than when they arrived.
Over the years, something unexpected happened.
Lifelong friendships formed at these tables.
Students who arrived knowing no one now save seats for each other.
People who were terrified to walk through the door now attend regularly, bring friends, and have become part of a creative community that somehow becomes a little addictive to be part of.
And perhaps my favorite part?
Newcomers never stay newcomers for long.
Somewhere between the coffee, paint water warnings, snacks, and watercolor lessons, something else happens too:
People realize they didn't need to be born a talented artist.
That creativity isn't reserved for "art people."
That watercolor absolutely can be taught.
And that when broken into simple, approachable steps, creating beautiful artwork becomes far less intimidating than they ever imagined.
The Main Studio

This is where you'll usually find me.
The main studio is where I work, teach smaller classes, host private lessons, and spend far too much time surrounded by watercolor supplies.
This space is home to my workshop table, cozy seating areas, my beloved puppy wall, a coffee and tea station with complimentary snacks, and a supply corner stocked with many of my favorite thingsβincluding a wide selection of Dr. Ph. Martin's liquid watercolors, Bleed Proof White, handmade watercolor kits, my famous handmade metallic paints, brushes, paper, and other supplies I personally use and love.
And yesβyou can shop from it.
One of my goals when creating the studio was building a space where students could actually see, test, ask questions about, and purchase the same supplies I personally use rather than guessing online and hoping for the best.
Both studio spaces include televisions and live demonstrations so students can easily follow techniques up closeβbecause squinting from the back row is overrated.
The Classroom

As the studio community grew, eventually so did the space.
The classroom was designed for larger workshops, watercolor classes, and community events while keeping the same cozy feel as the original studio.
You'll still find little nods to the personality of the main spaceβincluding an ode to the puppy wallβbut with more room to spread out, learn, paint, and create together.
Every Detail Matters
Community matters.
Lessons matter.
But details matter too.
Every part of the studio was intentionally designedβfrom cozy, carefully chosen decor and little touches of humor to thoughtfully created spaces that support learning, connection, and creativity.
There are spaces designed for quiet focus.
Spaces designed for conversation.
Spaces designed to make demonstrations easier to follow.
Spaces designed to make beginners feel less intimidated.
The goal wasn't simply to create an art studio.
The goal was to create a perfect studio.
A place that feels like an extension of homeβcomfortable, welcoming, and cozyβwithout the dishes, laundry piles, errands, and endless distractions waiting for you when you're actually sitting in your own living room.
For a few hours, you simply get to create.
Experience The Studio

There are a few different ways to experience the studio depending on what you're looking for.
Classes & Workshops
Most people first experience the studio through watercolor classes and workshops.
Whether you're joining a beginner watercolor class, multi-week workshop, specialty event, or something entirely different, classes are designed to be approachable, welcoming, and easy to followβeven if you've never picked up a paintbrush before.
Private Lessons
Looking for something more personalized?
Private lessons offer one-on-one instruction tailored specifically to your goals, skill level, and what you want to learn.
Studio Time (appointment only)
Sometimes you don't need instruction.
Sometimes you simply need space.
Studio Time was created for exactly that.
For $15, you can enjoy up to 3 hours in the studio using my supplies, paint alongside other creatives, and enjoy a dedicated space to create.
Prefer to bring your own supplies?
Bring them.
Studio time is completely free if you'd simply like a quiet, cozy place to paint.
Because sometimes the hardest part of creating isn't painting.
It's creating the time and space to actually do it.
Studio Tours
Not quite ready to book a class but curious what all the fuss is about?
You're welcome to schedule a small studio tour by appointment at no cost.
The studio may be small, but it packs a punch.
Come see the space, ask questions, explore the supply corner, peek behind the scenes, and get a feel for what makes this tiny creative headquarters with snacks, coffee, and an alarming amount of watercolor supplies so special.
No matter how you experience it, my hope is simple:
That you leave feeling more creative, more confident, more relaxed, and maybe just a little more at home than when you arrived.
