Face Painting

More Than Face Painting
When I started watercolor during lockdown, it wasn't because I wanted to become an artist—it was because I needed an escape. Painting became a way to quiet my mind, slow down, and create something joyful in the middle of life's chaos.
That experience shaped everything I do today.
While I teach watercolor to adults as a creative escape from the demands of everyday life, I wanted to create something that offered that same feeling for children—just in a way that speaks their language. For kids, imagination is the escape. Face painting gives them permission to become a dragon, a butterfly, a tiger, a superhero, or anything else they dream of being, even if it's just for an afternoon.
With my background in Hollywood special effects makeup and years as a professional artist, I get to combine creativity with a little bit of magic.

And then there's Nimbus.
Nimbus is my cheerful little cloud and the heart of my face painting world. You'll see Nimbus throughout my booth, on coloring pages, and helping welcome children who might be feeling a little nervous. Not every child is ready to jump into the chair with a smile—and that's okay. Sometimes all they need is a friendly face, a silly cloud, and a few minutes to feel safe.

Whether your child leaves as a glittering butterfly, a roaring dinosaur, or a fearless superhero, my hope is that they leave with something even more important—a happy memory, a little more confidence, and a reason to smile.
Because sometimes a little paint can do a whole lot more than change a face.

Frequently Asked Questions
What kinds of events do you attend?
Birthday parties, festivals, fairs, school events, libraries, community celebrations, corporate events, grand openings, holiday parties, and more! If you're not sure if your event is a good fit, just ask.
How many children can you paint?
On average, I paint 9–12 children per hour, depending on the designs selected and the ages of the children.
How long does each face take?
Most designs take 5–7 minutes. More detailed requests may take a little longer.
What kind of paint do you use?
I use professional, cosmetic-grade face paints that are specifically designed for use on the skin. They are non-toxic, hypoallergenic, and wash off easily with mild soap and warm water. They're approved for children 3+. (For insurance reasons, kids under 3 will not be painted)
How do I remove the face paint?
Use warm water and a gentle soap or cleanser. Avoid scrubbing, especially around the eyes. Some darker colors or glitter may take an extra wash, which is completely normal.
Do you offer glitter tattoos?
Yes! Glitter tattoos are available as an optional add-on and are a great choice for older kids, pool parties, or events where you want the artwork to last for several days.
What do you need at the event?
I bring everything needed for face painting. I simply ask for:
- A small space to set up (about 6' x 6')
- Access to water (I bring everything else)
- Shade for outdoor events whenever possible
- A backup plan if the event is outdoors and rain or severe weather is expected
Setup takes about 15–20 minutes.
Can adults get painted too?
Absolutely! While most bookings are for children, adults are always welcome to join the fun. I have some adult inspired face painting designs as well like cherry blossoms, tribal designs, festival, etc. But many adults love staying in tune with their inner child and will often pick any of the other designs as well. After all, who doesn't want to be Spider-Man?
Can you match my party theme?
Yes! I have a large selection of designs and can often incorporate your party's theme or colors into the menu. As a full-time professional artist and instructor creating is my jam.
Are there any faces you won't paint?
I keep all designs family-friendly. If there are specific characters, themes, or styles you'd prefer not to have at your event, just let me know ahead of time.
Faces must be clean of all debris, open wounds, and sniffle free.
What if my child is nervous?
That's perfectly okay! I never rush children or pressure them to sit down before they're ready.
You'll also meet Nimbus, my cheerful little cloud friend. Nimbus loves helping shy kids feel comfortable and reminding them that face painting is all about having fun. Sometimes all it takes is a smile, a coloring page, or a little conversation before they're ready.
Can children choose any design?
Yes! I bring a menu of colorful, kid-approved designs to choose from. If time allows, I'm always happy to personalize colors or add little touches to make each design feel special.
How far do you travel?
I primarily serve the New Hampshire Seacoast and surrounding areas. Travel outside my standard service area may include a travel fee.
How do I reserve my date?
A non-refundable deposit of $150 is required to secure your event date. Because your date is reserved exclusively for you, a new deposit is required if the event is rescheduled. This deposit will be applied toward the final balance, if any.
Do you really enjoy painting the same butterfly 37 times?
Absolutely. Kids don't see the 36 butterflies that came before them—they see their butterfly. Watching their face light up when they look in the mirror never gets old. That's my favorite part. 🦋☁️
I think parents would absolutely remember that one. It shows your sense of humor while also communicating why you love doing this.
